Genoa was once the centre of one of history’s great maritime powers, and the sea still plays a vital role in the soul of this now modern city. The renovated port area is home to Europe’s largest aquarium and a fantastic maritime museum, and it is where much of the city’s animated nightlife is based, centred, as one might expect, around excellent seafood.
